I have found that the sandstone material takes a variety of paints quite well. Including gold, and metallic paints. This is interesting because it opens-up a new channel of krafted products. Here is a photograph of a gold painted 3d printed sandstone part. The final rough gold look is very nice. It gives the appearance of aged or ancient gold pieces. Here I used gold enamel model paint from "Testors" brand. But in tests Acrylics, and oil based paint have all worked great.

Very cool! Though if you were making a line of those I don't know how well sandstone would do with the silicone molds etc...but maybe after coating it with a paint like you have it'd hold even better....hmmmm

Thank you. Previous customers have reported success with making silicone molds with Sandstone masters. I was told by one customer that coating the parts with a decent layer of Testor's Dull Coat seals the parts very well. They then used a typical spray release agent before pouring the silicone around the parts.
